Noreta Farms marked a major milestone in its growth journey with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, alongside senior government officials, heads of security agencies, and key stakeholders from the agricultural and business communities.
The event, held at the company’s flagship 15-hectare integrated production hub in Owena-Idanre, formally signaled the commencement of new infrastructure development as part of the farm’s Phase 2 expansion strategy.
The ceremony underscored the strategic importance of Noreta Farms’ technology-driven model to Ondo State’s broader agricultural transformation agenda. Governor Aiyedatiwa, while addressing attendees, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting private-sector investments that strengthen food security, generate employment, and accelerate economic diversification.
The groundbreaking included the laying of foundation stones for new farm buildings, operational shelters, expanded processing areas, and additional production infrastructure designed to support poultry integration and value-added operations.
Noreta Farms’ Managing Director emphasized that the expansion represents more than physical construction; it represents the scaling of industrial food production infrastructure in Nigeria. With over $5 million already deployed in Phase 1 — including automated hydroponic greenhouses, renewable energy systems, cold storage facilities, and professional management systems — the company is now advancing into a broader integrated agribusiness platform.
The new structures will support expanded production capacity, improved logistics, biosecurity-controlled zones, and the rollout of climate-managed poultry systems. These developments align with the company’s long-term objective to build resilient, scalable food infrastructure capable of serving premium domestic and export markets.
Security agency leaders present at the event highlighted the importance of stable agricultural investments in strengthening rural development and food supply reliability. Their attendance reflected the recognition that modern agriculture plays a critical role in economic stability and national resilience.
The ceremony concluded with site tours showcasing Noreta’s fully automated, climate-controlled greenhouse systems, where attendees observed first-hand the integration of precision irrigation, IoT-enabled monitoring dashboards, and structured operational management.
This expansion phase positions Noreta Farms as a central player in the evolution of agriculture from fragmented subsistence production to structured, industrial-scale food systems.
As construction progresses, the new facilities are expected to accelerate job creation, expand technical training opportunities, and further solidify Ondo State’s reputation as an emerging agribusiness hub.
